dominant political tribes has taken over discourse, and not in a good way. Gavin has watched and experienced old friendships crumble under the strain of strong tribal political feelings. This led him on a mission to uncover the source of these conflicts and to see whether anything could be done to lower the stress he witnessed.

The Moral Stress of Nations is the result of this ten year mission.Gavin enjoys travel, hiking, sport, gardening, art and history and most of all the company of his children, Tristan, Alexandra Lily and Daniel.
Gavin is a specialist in innovation, business strategy and
organisational transformation, and a leading global expert in applying the suite of Blue Ocean Strategy/Blue Ocean Shift theories. He has worked in the private and public sectors in the Americas, Europe, the Far East, South and South-East Asia, Australia and Africa.
Gavin was born and grew up in South Africa, though he has spent most of his life in the UK while working globally.
He graduated as a Chemical Engineer and holds an MBA, Bachelor of Musicology and a Performance Licentiate in Voice. As an orchestral conductor, Gavin’s recent recordings of Mozart’s Symphonies 40 and 41 topped the charts on the world’s most popular music streaming sites.

A self-described libertarian, Gavin enjoys his friendships with those across the 'left-right' spectrum of politics. If people are kind, well-intentioned and thoughtful then, according to him, their political tribe is irrelevent.
